Forum system question: more
: Hi Bp, sure I do speak and write english (see heading notice). I did think a while about collisions, but I didn't find a smart idea how to solve it. Prefixes or suffixes in thread-names don't work since they can't be filtered for the overview of a forum. (like "Forum:TF Picard birthdate" and "Forum:RD Picard bithdate" for Ten Forward, or Reference Desk) So I hope, collisions don't happen too much and ''if'' it happens, we are lucky to find an archived thread to be refrehsed with new aspects. If it happens by mistake, one should choose a different title. On the other hand SysOps or responsible users can rename/move articles like "Forum:Need help!" to a more specific title (which will not collide). BTW: I knew this feature from Uncyclopeadia where I found "Forum" but chose to do it manually without "last change" dates: [[Forum:Inhalt]]. &mdash; [[{{ns:user}}:Florian K|<span style="color:#CD853F;">Florian</span>]]&#x2122; ''[[{{ns:user_talk}}:Florian K|talk]]'' 14:35, 21. Thanks for the quick response. I guess that will have to be alright. I wonder if it is possible to disable the Forum talk: namepsace. It seems a little strange to have a discussion about a discussion. Also, I think the icon for "new" threads is a little inappropriate for its function. The icon is shared between en and de, so maybe we should talk about that? And another thing to bring to your attention, we have changed the nav templates to put the thread name in the box and get rid of the section header. This has the effect of getting rid of those annoying <nowiki>(&rarr; {{PAGENAME}} -)</nowiki> edit summaries and it looks nicer in our opinion. See it [http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Template:Reference_Desk_Thread_Nav here]. The old threads were imported with the old style so they still have the section headers <nowiki>"=={{PAGENAME}}==".</nowiki> So your thoughts on that as well. --[[Benutzer:Bp|Bp]] 15:01, 21.
